My Ideal Big Breakfast RobFather, Monday, October 16, 2023Tuesday, October 24, 2023 It’s been a few years since I last had a delicious big breakfast. Should I ever get around to dating again, I’ll be sure to mention that one way to win my heart is to go out to a reputable restaurant that serves a hot breakfast with all the fixings. Occasionally having a big breakfast on a beautiful Sunday mid-morning would make for an excellent date with someone or simply as time spent with myself. I’ve only had a few Sunday morning breakfast dates, have enjoyed all but one of them, and would like more opportunities to do it again. The Breakfast Order – Ideally, my delicious big breakfast would consist of either hot pancakes – 3 to 5 stacked, or honey waffles – one on a plate, two on a separate plate. Waffles are preferred simply because I like them better! Whichever of the two I choose should be topped with confectioners’ sugar. Kindly leave several butter patties, freshly cut strawberries or strawberry topping, and a pitcher of warmed maple syrup on the side, please. Then, on separate plates, would be: a Western omelet – with cheese, and heavy onions. spicy patty or link sausage. a large scoop of hash brown potatoes. a large bowl of mixed fresh fruit [salad] (Typically, the fruit bowl would contain seedless grapes (red, green, purple), bananas, strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, pineapple, mangoes, honeydew, cantaloupe, and watermelon.) a small bowl of grape or cranberry raisins. a warm, icing-covered sweet cinnamon roll, or a couple of either warm blueberry or cranberry fruit muffins an 8-ounce glass each of cold apple juice, orange juice – with pulp, pineapple juice, and grape juice. (Do not substitute any of those juices with artificial or “flavored” drinks. I will detect the difference!) a small pitcher of ice cube water – with three or four slices of fresh lemon floating inside, provided with a 12-ounce glass. I would ask my server to hold the: coffee (Not everyone likes or drinks coffee. I’ll only accept hot green or black tea as an alternative.) cereal milk – of any kind bacon (I like bacon – both turkey and pork, but am particular about how my bacon is cooked.) spam and scrapple (I will not eat that stuff.) oatmeal and/or the Cream of Wheat. grits (i.e., ground yellow or white corn) Finally, though I am a father and an uncle and have done my time in either raising or helping to raise little kids, I don’t want any of them near me while I’m enjoying my big breakfast. As a rule, I try not to sit near children whenever I’m out having a meal in a restaurant, especially in the morning and in the evening. I’d prefer to enjoy my meal with either my date or, if I’m alone, by myself in relative peace. I don’t think that’s much to ask or expect. //⚤// – RobFather More of the Real Time Xperience: Eats & Drinks General More About Me breakfasteating and drinkingfoodpersonal preferences
